India is a country where the people from all the religions live with
harmony except some of the incidents which are planned by some people
for their respective interests originated by following the ‘Divide and
Rule Policy’ of Britishers. The followers of each religion celebrate
their religious occasions and even the people from other religions also
greet them and celebrate along with them.
But, in the contemporary times, the
celebration of the religious occasions has become just a ‘show of
power’. If we see any of the religious functions, more emphasis is done
on the materialistic things. More effort is done on covering the maximum
road to display the power than walking on the road preached by their
respective Gurus which could have led them to the God. Religious ego has
dominated the Religious Feeling. The deficiency of the religious
feeling is the major reason behind it.
I personally witnessed an incident when
some people were celebrating the Birth Anniversary of a Saint who
preached non violence throughout his life. The people who were (in
reality, not) the followers of that Saint were
violating the environment by blocking the road where it was not even
needed. They were exchanging hot and abusive words with the people who
argued against the blockage of road. Notably, generally where such type
of road blocks are genuine all the people cooperate with it.
Was it sensible on the part of those
people to indulge in violence on the day of the Birth Anniversary of a
Saint who preached non violence? Was it not His biggest disrespect by
its so called followers?
The religious people are needed to think upon this type of insensibility and improve it.
