It is quiet clear from the strategy of BJP to honour four different
Dalit leaders in the four parts of the country that BJP wants to take
political benefit for 2014 General Elections by attracting the Dalit
votes. BJP SC Morcha, National President, Sanjay Paswan accepted that if
they get Political gain through these programmes there is nothing wrong
in it. BSP strongly opposes the usage the name of their leader Kanshi
Ram by BJP.
It is quiet clear from this programme of BJP to honour Kanshi Ram posthumously that the BJP is trying to attract the votes of Dalits. In the present scenario, Dalit vote bank of Punjab, mainly in Doaba region is dominated by BSP, which generally are not enough for the victory of BSP candidates but still play a major role to neutralise the effect of Dalit votes which would have gone to Congress in the absence of BSP. So, it is seemed that BJP has put their first step forward to attract the Dalit votes with the slogan of, “Kanshi Ram ji ke sapne adhure, Bhajpa sang hum karenge poore.”
BJP, the party which generally opposes the caste based politics, have now compromised their thinking for vote bank and understood the importance of caste and have been working to attract the Dalits to achieve their Lok Sabha target of 272. Sanjay Paswan believes that castiest regional parties are vanishing from the Indian politics. Do he signify that these parties are vanishing because now the National parties have formed the Caste based units? like SC Morcha of BJP or really the people are getting awared that they have started voting off the caste based politics. Whatever may be the truth, the common people are getting befooled.
