'Chaar Sahibzaade' animated movie changes the trend

The Chaar Sahibzaade animated movie based on the life of the Four Sons of Guru Gobind Singh has set an example in the Punjabi film industry. The screenplay, dialogues and script has put an extra life into the movie.

The movie gives a message to leave behind the old thinking and accept the new one (even new technology).

The new generation has been going away from the Sikhism. The major reason could be that they do not get to know about the Sikh history and culture from their parents because of their busy schedule. Another reason can be that their modes of entertain have been so developed (because of new technology) that they do not go towards religion.

Reason can be any, but yes, they are going away from Sikh history, culture and overall Sikhism. But, the Chaar Sahibzaade movie has set a trend. It has been watched mostly by the children and they have learnt about the history of 4 sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji.

This happened because the children got to know the history from the medium of their generation. Thus, the preachers of Sikhism must learn the new modes of disseminating the information in masses as the criterion is changing.

Chaar Sahibzaade has set a trend and thus, the producers would get the courage to work and make more such movies and contribute in disseminating the teachings of Gurus.

I hope, SGPC could also make it as a tool for disseminating the teachings of Gurus.

Editor's Opinion : Inside story of Defectors (Dal Badlu)

It has become a fashion in contemporary politics for a political leader to jump to another party from the parent party for the personal benefits. Every time the excuse of Public Interest is made by those defectors (Dal Badlu) in order to advocate their decision. Moreover, they also start feeling the regard in new party which they were missing in their parent party. Some defectors might have forgotten their parent party after traveling in the various political parties.

dal-badlu

The Political parties that welcome such defectors, feel privileged and tries to publicize the news with a chest of 56 inch as if they have done a marvelous job. Defection is an anti-democratic process, against which the Parliament had also passed a legislation, Anti-Defection Law. Though this law is applicable on the elected legislators of a party but it gives a message to other leaders also that Politics is not a business of personal gains.

In contemporary politics, defection is taken as a gain and many political leaders can be seen importing defectors by honouring them with a Siropao (religious cloth) which is given as a medal to the defectors in order to encourage them. Moreover, many political leaders can be seen claiming that more MLAs or leaders of opposition party have agreed to join their party.

The question arises, what is the purpose for an MLA or a leader to change the party when he or she can do same social service remaining in the parent party. Exceptions are always there when it is good to leave a party which get derailed from the original agenda. But, a trend has been witnessed from last few years, the political leaders are changing their parties because their party hadn't came into power. Many excuses can be made by the defectors, but in real sense personal gain is the only reason to change the party. Even monetary or power promises persuade a defector to change a party.

An MLA resigns and join another party putting a burden on the people to bear the cost of by-election. General Public must teach a lesson to such defectors by giving them a soundly defeat. One such by-election will be held soon.

This trend can be fatal for Indian Democracy. People must give a message to politicians that such moves do not entertain them.

What religious Gurus preached and what their followers doing?

India is a country where the people from all the religions live with harmony except some of the incidents which are planned by some people for their respective interests originated by following the ‘Divide and Rule Policy’ of Britishers. The followers of each religion celebrate their religious occasions and even the people from other religions also greet them and celebrate along with them.

But, in the contemporary times, the celebration of the religious occasions has become just a ‘show of power’. If we see any of the religious functions, more emphasis is done on the materialistic things. More effort is done on covering the maximum road to display the power than walking on the road preached by their respective Gurus which could have led them to the God. Religious ego has dominated the Religious Feeling. The deficiency of the religious feeling is the major reason behind it.

I personally witnessed an incident when some people were celebrating the Birth Anniversary of a Saint who preached non violence throughout his life. The people who were (in reality, not) the followers of that Saint were violating the environment by blocking the road where it was not even needed. They were exchanging hot and abusive words with the people who argued against the blockage of road. Notably, generally where such type of road blocks are genuine all the people cooperate with it.

Was it sensible on the part of those people to indulge in violence on the day of the Birth Anniversary of a Saint who preached non violence? Was it not His biggest disrespect by its so called followers?

The religious people are needed to think upon this type of insensibility and improve it.

What a pity! Media is also under scanner of EC

Media has to play a big role in the society and it is popularly known as the watchdog of the society because of its credibility to report the illegal or wrong happenings in the society. But it is losing its credibility because of the rise of the yellow journalism, paid news, biased news, etc.

Country is voting for the 16th Lok Sabha elections and the Election Commission is taking every initiative to conduct the fair elections in the whole country. On one side where the Election commission has been keeping a check on the candidates, it had also formed a Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) at district level in each district to keep a check on media for displaying paid and biased news.

For a while, Let us think, What was the necessity to form a monitoring committee for media? Media which was the most credible source of information has presently lost its credibility because of some of the black sheeps in the media industry. The media in the contemporary times had compromised its ethics for money. The paid news which affected the opinion of the people in last few election have been banned totally and the EC is keeping check on content of media and even issue notices to the media companies in case it finds it violating the model code of conduct. Such type of notice was issued to a regional news channel of Punjab a few days ago. Election Commission had also made mandatory to take the permission for an advertisement three days before its publication and the EC would go through the content of the advertisement and can even ask for changes in case it violates the model code of conduct.

What a pity situation for media! Media brings all the activities of the society, government and even Election Commission under scanner but now it itself is under scanner. The media persons are needed to get together and think about this situation which can even be fatal for the media industry. The condition would worsen in future.

Win win situation for Democracy : People are becoming politically aware

- People never inquired about the economic policies of Shiromani Akali Dal but now asking from AAP

With the advent of Aam Aadmi Party in the Indian Politics, on one side where the whole political system is suffering a reformation, the people have also become more politically aware on the other side. The General people who never inquired about the economic policies, foreign policies or other policies of many of the political parties, are now becoming politically aware and asking those questions from the party, which is showing a new path of ideal politics to the people.

In daily life also while purchasing something, an Aam Aadmi inquire N number of questions from the shopkeeper then why shouldn’t a citizen of India ask the questions from the leaders of a political party from whom they are purchasing the fortune of the country for next five years. Such questions should be asked to the political parties with which the democracy strengthens.
But, if we see the criteria of the people selecting their candidates in all the previous elections, the democracy in India had weakened to a large extent. People voted for caste, religion, Ram Mandir and many a times voted a party to power in order to vote out another party from power because of lack of any other option. Then people didn’t asked the economic policies or other policies of those parties. If, the people would have inquired the economic policies of Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab while voting out Congress from power, SAD won’t have been successful to get the votes of the people. Notably, Punjab is suffering from a severe financial instability and this is obvious that it is due to the poor economic policies of SAD.
The Election Commission of India has been working hard to involve more and more people in the General Elections by making the people aware about their right to vote.
The citizens of India are becoming politically aware and a good change in the politics of India will be witnessed on 16th May, whichever party would win, the Democracy of India will be victorious.

Editor’s opinion : Democracy becomes stronger with constructive opposition and responsible ruling party

- Constructive opposition and responsible ruling party strengthened the democracy in Delhi in just 49 days tenure of Kejriwal Govt

In Democracy, the people of the country votes a party to form the government and at the same time also votes another party or parties as the opposition party to keep a check on the working of the party in power. In this situation, the opposition has the same responsibility as the party in power. Constructive opposition where helps the government run efficiently, it also helps in the development of the country.

As we have seen the constructive opposition in the Arvind Kejriwal’s regime in Delhi, the opposition was forcing the ruling party to fulfill its promises that it made with the people of Delhi during their election campaign. Responding to the demands of opposition, the Delhi  government fulfilled its maximum promises that it made with the people of Delhi. No matter what the attitude of the opposition in Delhi was? The Government of 49 days was an ideal Government in which the opposition and the ruling party played a vital role to strengthen the democracy.

Why such type of democratic exercise is not seen in other parts of the country including the Union Government? Is this the starting of a change? Whatever it may be but the traditional or old parties have started talking of the respect and exercise of democracy.

Why an MP or an MLA is not questioned by the opposition party to fulfill his promises that he made with the people of the area? Generally, the opposition keep silence over these issues for 5 years and at the time of elections they go to the people alleging about their MP or MLA that he had not fulfilled promises made with them. In constructive opposition, the opposition along with the people of the area must have pressurized the MP or MLA to fulfill his promises during his term and get them fulfilled. That is real and constructive opposition for the development of country. Same is applicable in Panchayats, block samitis, zila parishads, state governments and union government.

In present situation, the condition of democracy in India is known to all, the behaviour of the opposition as well as of the ruling party. I don’t feel right to explain it and vanish the way of strengthening democracy that I had explained above. Thanks.

Awaring people on road safety is a praiseworthy step of Hoshiarpur Police

Hoshiarpur Police celebrated Road Safety Week from 11th January to 17th January and awared people about the road safety norms and traffic rules. Even many other praiseworthy steps have been taken to prevent accidents, post accident management and helping the citizens during any inconvenience on road, like tyre puncture or vehicle failure. Hoshiarpur Police is going to launch Helplines for ambulances and vehicle mechanics shortly. Traffic committees have been formed in the educational institutions comprising of teachers and students who would look up the traffic system in the institution and outside the institution. Same formula has been applied for the workers of the factories in the district.
These all steps are welcoming steps for the road safety only if these steps are applied practically on the grass root level.
On the other hand, all these steps taken are incomplete without the involvement of Transport department that issue driving licenses and pass the motor vehicles. It is the ground reality that the driving test of applicants for driving test is not conducted by the Motor Vehicle Inspector and he signs the forms and the applicant is issued the license. Till the right procedure of issuing the driving license is not followed, road safety awareness does not have any importance. The applicants of license should be taught about the traffic rules and road safety norms in special compulsory classes before issuing the license then the awareness becomes a continuous process.

General Public is the soft target to be harassed in order to register the protests

It is generally seen that the political parties and other organizations block roads or instal bandhs in order to register their protests against the Government or some other issue. In road blocks or bandhs, the General Public get  harassed badly. It was seen on Thursday, when the workers and leaders of Congress blocked the roads across state for 2 hours demanding CBI inquiry against Bikramjit Singh Majithia. Though the leaders of Congress sought pardon from the public for inconvenience, but the Public was very much irritated and said that the Police must take action against such people.

It is very true that the political parties must become mature and responsible enough that during their protest, they do not abuse the fundamental right of citizens to move freely throughout the country and even the right of a patient to reach hospital in time. It is said that the Thursday’s Bandh of Congress was very successful but it doesn’t had any effect on the Government and the Congress party knew it even. Then why does the Congress party installed this bandh? To harass people and publisize the alleged involvement of Bikramjit Singh Majithia in drug racket? Whatever may be the reason but the General Public got harassed.

BJP’s posthumous honour of Dalit leaders signifies vote bank politics

It is quiet clear from the strategy of BJP to honour four different Dalit leaders in the four parts of the country that BJP wants to take political benefit for 2014 General Elections by attracting the Dalit votes. BJP SC Morcha, National President, Sanjay Paswan accepted that if they get Political gain through these programmes there is nothing wrong in it. BSP strongly opposes the usage the name of their leader Kanshi Ram by BJP.

It is quiet clear from this programme of BJP to honour Kanshi Ram posthumously that the BJP is trying to attract the votes of Dalits. In the present scenario, Dalit vote bank of Punjab, mainly in Doaba region is dominated by BSP, which generally are not enough for the victory of BSP candidates but still play a major role to neutralise the effect of Dalit votes which would have gone to Congress in the absence of BSP. So, it is seemed that BJP has put their first step forward to attract the Dalit votes with the slogan of, “Kanshi Ram ji ke sapne adhure, Bhajpa sang hum karenge poore.”

BJP, the party which generally opposes the caste based politics, have now compromised their thinking for vote bank and understood the importance of caste and have been working to attract the Dalits to achieve their Lok Sabha target of 272. Sanjay Paswan believes that castiest regional parties are vanishing from the Indian politics. Do he signify that these parties are vanishing because now the National parties have formed the Caste based units? like SC Morcha of BJP or really the people are getting awared that they have started voting off the caste based politics. Whatever may be the truth, the common people are getting befooled.

Opinion : We cannot make an opinion that the culprit of an accident didn’t intended to do so

Police celebrates road safety week every year in order to aware people about the Road Safety Norms and rules. Generally it is believed that the people are ignorant about the traffic rules and they are needed to be educated. It is somehow, true in case of students who are new for using the roads while riding their two wheelers or four wheelers. It also contradicts the issuance of driving license to the people by the transport department without teaching them traffic rules and without taking driving test. First initiative must be taken regarding issuance of Driving license that it should be issued after teaching traffic rules and taking proper driving test. Then, the purpose of celebration of road safety week every year will be to reinforce the traffic rules and road safety norms into the citizens.

Thousands of people lose their lives in the road accidents every year in the world and even in Hoshiarpur hundreds of people lost their lives in road accidents in the year 2013, including a major accident on Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road as a truck fallen down in a deep gorge resulting in the death of 20 people.
This opinion is generally made in the society that the culprits of the accidents didn’t intended to do so, but it will not be wise to make this opinion. A driver who generally drives the vehicle violating the traffic rules, being stubborn on road, impatient, etc; that driver generally drives the vehicle on the basis of a mathematical term probability. In case of such drivers, the probability of accidents is more than other drivers and on the other hand the probability of being saved is more than getting accidented. So, when any mishappening  happens in the form of an accident, why does an opinion is made about such drivers that they didn’t intended to do so, whereas, they knowingly commit such blunders on road.
